It was such a hot day in San Diego today,
I decided a salad would be a refreshing choice.
I cut some fresh baguettes into cubes.
Combined olive oil, kosher salt, pepper and
fresh grated parmigiano reggiano.
Toasted the bread in the oven.
Went out to our garden and picked some ripe tomatoes.
I also wanted some cherry tomatoes so I got a few of those.
The basil is so tasty this year so I picked some too!
I poured some good olive oil over and freshly ground pepper.
It was delicious! Just what I wanted on a hot summer day.

ReplyDeleteI have to try this! What a great way to use up some of those tomatoes! It looks pretty, too!

Yum!!! Two of my favorite foods . . . I love finding new way to create delicious meals.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet comment about my journal . . . I'm just having fun in the evening . . . seems like we have so many TV channels these days . . . but nothing much worth watching. Have a great weekend, Connie :)
It sounds just perfect! My basil and tomatoes are doing great!!! We do a lot of caprese, and salads and such for summer meals.
