Pierre

Our friend, Bonnie from Marin County, sent us our charming little man, "Pierre" for our kitchen. We always have him displaying different things; miniature food, holiday decorations, and menus. So, we decided to have him display what we are cooking in the kitchen. He's our good luck chef...

MADELEINES

Photos by Carly Gabara

Carly and I decided to make cookies and blog about them. We found this recipe in a Martha Stewart cookbook. They are baked in special pans of different sizes. Madeleines were made famous by Marcel Proust. They're a light dessert and  especially good with fruit.

WHIMZY

Whimzy is another one of my favorite shops when I go to Old Town Tustin. It has alot of vintage antiques and collectibles. They carry many different treasures to help you create artistic things for your home. Dianne White from Whimzy said, "There is a vintage fleamarket every fourth Sunday of the month in front of our store". If you're looking for some whimzy, this is the place...

My Kitchen Goddess

My kitchen goddess statue overlooks my creativity while cooking. I made a necklace of shells our family collected on a trip to La Paz, Mexico. She is decorated year round.

The Vintage Lady

Photos by Carly Gabara
This weekend we visited one of my favorite stores in Old Town Tustin. They have a collection of vintage furniture and antiques. There is plenty to look at to inspire your home and garden. The proprietor, Cathy Jarrell, is very helpful with any questions you have on decorating your home. The atmosphere feels very charming because it is an old historical house now a vintage shop. If ever you're in Tustin, stop by.

Whimsical Birds

Got this idea from Carly after she went to a paper store. The cut out birds were glued with different papers and wings were added with music notes. The edges were glittered and holes punched with glitter string. I made a homemade version of it. Hope you like it...
