I found this vanity at a garage sale for $20. I knew I could work some magic with Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint. The color I picked was Duck Egg and I painted a metallic gold for the trim.
I needed a chair for the vanity and found this one at a thrift store for $5.
I painted it with the same Duck Egg color.
Love this color.
My husband, Stan, helped staple gun the linen on.
I decided not to stencil on the linen.
The vanity turned out just the way I wanted it to. Very French...
Jody , That looks absolutely gorgeous! I'm not surprised, that's just how you do things. Ciao.

Wo, $20 bucks! That is a score! I redid a french provincial dresser over in antique white paint for my baby's nursery, I love the look and shape of the design, but I do not like their original colors much! This blue is awesome!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! The details in that piece are so great and the paint color you used is perfect!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful job! Really love your color combos. If my desk had lines like this I wouldn't have cut in half to make a nightstand! lol I'm your new follower and would love if you'd follow back. Also I'd love if you'd link your desk to my Frugal Treasures Tuesday party going on now through Sunday night. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I had this piece as part of my "french" bedroom when I was a child in the 60's. My father bought it from Sears & Roebuck where he was a manager. I had the canopy bed, night stand and chest of drawers. This piece was really a desk, but my parents purchased the oval mirror that went with the dresser, and placed it over the desk to serve as a vanity. Glad you kept the gold! Brings back a lot of memories.
